Project Overview

Saktiisha is Savitri's yoga practice. We created a cinematic film that would convey what a class feels like, not simply demonstrate poses. Savitri guides five participants; through one central participant, the film moves from a shared studio session into an open natural setting and returns to the group.

Primary Objectives

• Express calm, balance and a sense of connection through film.

• Show the experience of yoga from a participant's point of view.

• Give Saktiisha a distinctive visual identity beyond a conventional class video.

• Connect the shared studio practice with a more personal inner experience.

• Create a film suited to sharing on social platforms.

Our Approach

We used movement and breath as the film's narrative thread. A participant's flow in the studio carries into a quieter exterior through planned match cuts, before the film returns to Savitri and the group. Controlled studio lighting, silhouettes, greenery, gentle camera movement and natural outdoor light helped the transition feel emotional rather than explanatory.

• Used skylight, haze and window-side light for soft indoor silhouettes.

• Worked with natural backlight outdoors and a characterful Helios lens.

• Combined restrained voice-over, edit rhythm and sound design to support the feeling of the practice.

The Results

The film surpassed 10,000 views within its first two days and continued to gain attention across social platforms. Its reception showed that an abstract, feeling-led portrayal could connect with the intended audience.

Impact Summary

The film gives prospective students an impression of the experience Savitri offers: slowing down, breathing and reconnecting. Its visual storytelling makes Saktiisha recognizable without relying on a standard class demonstration.
